Next Stop: Nashville!

nashville Hello friends and greetings from the Great and Beautiful South.  The weather here in Asheville is a balmy 82 with your typical Southern thunderstorm poking in unannounced every now and then.

A lot has been brewing under the service of a few specific items since we last reached out to you.  Those specifics being: our personal intimacy with God, His next steps for us, and what ties all of that together.

From last to first, what has truly inspired David’s spiritual life as of late has been the book, Red Moon Rising: How 24/7 Prayer is Awakening a Generation“. He has said, “Reading this book as re-lit the fire that God started back when I was devoting myself to His Presence in prayer.”  It has reminded David of the absolute difference prayer makes when applied in honest faith and the requirement of change it requires within ones soul and mind.  The “Red Moon” has been a great companion to his prayers regarding the next steps of ministry for us…

…to that end, we are VERY excited to explore a possible answer to prayer regarding a partner in ministry.  Several weeks after we returned from Vegas, David was skyping with a good friend of his, Josh Coy.  Josh, is similar to David in that he carries a burden for this generation (he is currently a missionary for Campus Crusade for Christ), and he has a testimony of victory over same-sex attraction.  In fact, they met at their first Exodus Freedom Conference back in 2001 and Josh was a part of our wedding party.  It became clear through their conversation that God was stirring a very similar passion within them concerning this generation.  Specifically: the need for hope and truth to combat the lies around sexual identity/confusion.  As dreams, visions, prophetic words, prayer, and more conversation ensued, they both realized they need to step out and see if this is truly “Divined” for them from Heaven.  Hence…

…NASHVILLE!  With our iminent move back to California (July 28) and Josh living relatively close, in Ohio, we decided it to be wise to meet-up before the miles between the two expand from hundreds to thousands.  The two settled on Nashville as a natural middle-point for the both of them: a 5-hour drive for David and 7 hour for Josh.  Plus, both have ministry contacts to re-connect with while there.  David will be in Nashville from the night of Sunday, June 28 through Tuesday, June 29.  The whole purpose of the trip is to have much needed “face time”, plan in person, and pray.  They believe this will be another “Vegas” in that God will either close the door or keep things open for them to continue to walk through in trust and humility.

We covet your prayers over this.  We believe it will be a very fruitful time in many, many ways on many different dimensions.  That is why we need your faithful prayers to cover and agree with us through this.  We also are in need to collect the cost of this trip.  With the two of us (David and Chelsea) preparing to move back to California, this is an added, unexpected expense which we trust, believe, and expect God to provide for.  All we are asking for is a total of $150.  That $150 will cover a 2 nights hotel stay, food, and gas.  While the expenses of this trip are minimal in comparison to Vegas, the spiritual impact is just as great and as such we ask you once again to give.  Several people contributing $10 - $20 dollars will surely cover what we need.  You may give towards this next step of the journey right here on the PayPal link.

Thanks again for sharing the adventure with us.  This is all so exciting.  We know He is “above and beyond all we could ever think of, ask, or imagine according to the Power that works within us,” (eph 3:20) and it’s invigorating to see His Holy Spirit be the one to draw us dutifully back to His side, lead us up the Mountain and see the Vision, once again.  We look forward to another great report out of Nashville.  We pray God blesses you with His still, small Voice in this next season, wherever you end up on the Narrow Way.

sincerely,

david and chelsea

  1. Ummm so that is the time frame I was looking at heading to Nashville for a day myself…. I do believe we should at least connect for a bit at some point. I haven’t set a day yet I am coming. I wanted to go visit some other friends in the area and then head down to Northern Alabama to visit some family that I haven’t seen in a long time.
